Fifth Generation Boy Group Hilariously Recreates A Fanmade Trend

The assignment was understood.

While K-Pop idols are often trendsetters on social media, K-Pop fans are no less in the field. From creating dance challenges to skits to comic trends, the creative ways in which fans show love to and promote their favorite artists are impressive. So, when the idols themselves respond to these trends, it becomes all the more special for their fanbase.

Recently, a fifth-generation boy group called 8TURN showed their love and appreciation for their fans by recreating a trend started by their own fans.

Having debuted in 2023, the group is still very new in the industry, and yet they have managed to create a strong fanbase already. As 8TURN celebrated their 1-year debut anniversary in January this year, some Korean fans started a cute trend to show their love.

The trend involves fans taking eight pieces out of a cake, one after another, as they call out the names of the 8TURN members. The cake is decorated with individual photocards of the eight members, and as their names get called out individually, someone takes a slice out of the part of the cake where the respective photocard is.

This simple yet heartwarming trend reached the right place, as 8TURN members acknowledged it with their own version on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.

The remake took many by surprise as they didn’t expect the members to notice the trend in the first place. Many were also amused that they managed to add a comical touch to it.

Though they are just getting started as idols, 8TURN’s warmth and appreciation for their fans is something every fanbase could wish for!
