On March 15, 2024, actors Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol were embroiled in relationship rumors beginning with an anonymous netizen’s post. Since then, even more drama supposedly involving Ryu Jun Yeol’s ex-girlfriend, Girl’s Day‘s Hyeri, has unfolded.

With as many updates as there have been, some are likely confused over how everything began.

Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol were discovered to be dating in 2017 after the two both appeared in Reply 1998. Dispatch exposed the relationship and showed multiple photos of the pair meeting at different times.

Four months later, a netizen reported seeing Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol vacationing together in Hawaii amid reports they were to appear in an up-coming K-Drama titled Tempted. According to Japanese tourists’ posts, the pair was “frolicking” at the pool, with the netizen implying they had taken photos.

Following these rumors, each actor’s agency responded, giving similar messages that each was on vacation and that it involved their private lives, so they would not be responding.

Amidst the rumors, Hyeri uploaded an Instagram story with the caption “how funny,” or “interesting,” along with a photo of palm trees, a symbol of Hawaii. In addition to this, the star also unfollowed her ex-boyfriend on Instagram.

Netizens began speculating about the timing of the breakup, with some assuming that Ryu Jun Yeol left Hyeri for Han So Hee.  An online post with the suspected timeline gained attention, though a report from MBC News refuted that the two met before the breakup.

Han So Hee then seemingly addressed these allegations in a story posted to her Instagram account, where she said she did not “meddle in other people’s relationships.” Many believe she also took a snipe at Hyeri in the final part of the story, where she says, “I find it funny, too.”

Then, early morning on March 16 (KST), Han So Hee shared a post via her Naver Blog confirming that she is indeed in a relationship with Ryu Jun Yeol. She also apologized to Hyeri for the previous Instagram “jab.”

Starting with the report on their Hawaii sighting, speculative articles about Ryu Jun Yeol’s private life started to appear. We would like to tell you the facts.

Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee started dating at the beginning of 2024. He got to know Han So Hee after he ended his relationship with Hyeri and, as of recently, they pursued each other.

We asked that the media respect their privacy, rather than focusing on  an official confirmation, as this all stemmed from an unauthorized filming while the two were on vacation. But when we refused to comment, the actors’ personal rights were seriously violated with misunderstandings and unnecessary speculations for two days. So we would like to ask you again.
