Girls’ Generation Spill On What It Was Like To Record “Villain” With Tiffany Directing Them
Girls’ Generation finally had their long-awaited comeback, FOREVER 1. The tracklist included the song “Villain,” which showed off both Sooyoung and Tiffany‘s musical talents as Sooyoung is credited as a lyricist and Tiffany as both a lyricist and producer.
The addictive, powerful melody has captured the hearts of fans and even has some SM Entertainment fans hoping that Tiffany could produce a similar style track for aespa.
Villain really sounds like aespa songs. Alright we need Tiffany to produce a song for aespa and give them a sip in mother lake pic.twitter.com/u0xN77xLF6

I know I'm being biased, but SM should hire Tiffany and Sooyoung to write songs for aespa, because Villain is so damn slay, slay, slay!!!

In the recent episodes of the Game Caterers, Girls’ Generation opened up about what it was like for the members to record “Villain” under Tiffany’s direction.
Tiffany: It’s the first song written by our own member.
Producer: Then did Tiffany…
Yoona: She directed it.
Producer: Was she like, “No, that’s not how it goes?”
According to Taeyeon, Tiffany strictly guided the members during recording. And Hyoyeon teasingly elaborated that Tiffany worked really hard to teach them how the song went.
Hyoyeon: She tried to explain it, so I said okay before [her explanation] gets too long. “Say the first word as if you’re kicking.” She taught me as if she was teaching a child.
Sunny can only jokingly point out that despite Tiffany’s help, Hyoyeon still didn’t understand her intent.
Sunny: Yet you still didn’t get her.
Still, despite any difficulties, Tiffany, Sooyoung, and all the members did an incredible job creating the song.
