Born in 1980, Jung Sung Il started his acting career in 1999 by acting in plays such as Unchain, Sheer Madness, Brother’s Night, and many more. He also starred in multiple musicals, such as Get Off Work At 6, Mio Fratello, and Interview, showcasing his singing and dancing skills.
He also played minor roles in movies and K-dramas, such as the 2008 film, A Frozen Flower, where he played a royal guard, and the 2009 K-Drama The Return of Iljimae, where he played a character named Kotaro.
However, he was an unknown actor for a long time. After debuting in his early 20s, Jung Sung Il was not well-known by the public until he entered his 40s and starred in the tvN K-Drama Stranger 2 as the role of Park Sang Mu. After that, he became more recognized with his roles in the K-Dramas Moonshine, Bad and Crazy, and Our Blues.
