GOT7 Jinyoung's Honest Thoughts On Dating As A K-Pop Idol Shows His True Personality

GOT7 fans know Jinyoung as a serious, yet hilarious member, often engaging in hilarious antics online with other members. He recently showed his serious and mature side while talking about his thoughts on dating and his upcoming military enlistment.

Jinyoung has remained busy since the group departed from JYP Entertainment in 2021, appearing in several movies and dramas, including Yumi’s Cells, Yaksha: Ruthless Operations, and Devil Judge.

He also participated in GOT7’s comeback in May 2022 and the subsequent fan concert that took place after.

In late November, it was announced by Korean media that Jinyoung would be enlisting in mid-March 2023. Though it was later shared by his company, BH Entertainment, that he did not have a set date in mind, his future plans, including the release of his movie Christmas Carol, future solo album, and solo tour were confirmed.

Though fans were a little saddened by the news of his enlistment, they have also been taking in all the content that has been released by Jinyoung, including recent interviews promoting the release of Christmas Carol. In one such interview, Jinyoung gave his true opinion on dating and showed off his mature side yet again!

When asked about having a relationship, Jinyoung replied that he believes that he “should be dating” but admits to not “having time.”

I should be dating, but I don’t have time…and I have to enlist soon, so why should I? Finding someone and having a relationship, no matter the label, seems like a lot of pressure to me.

While one would normally think of a relationship as something that could be fun, Jinyoung seems to be focused on wrapping up his schedules before enlistment, saying, “it seems irresponsible” to be in a relationship before that. Fans don’t have to worry, though, as he stated that he “will try” to date after his discharge.
