A Hotel Video Of NCT’s Mark And Chenle Exposes The Scary Reality Of Sasaengs
While there are many good parts of being a celebrity, some negatives come with the experience. Unfortunately, one part of those negatives includes fans who break boundaries and invade personal space.
In K-pop, these stalker fans, or sasaeng fans, have attracted the worst kind of attention for their actions, including calling and harassing idols and even physically harming them in the worst cases.
NCT have dealt with many sasaeng situations in recent years, including a fan breaking into Jaehyun‘s hotel room while on tour and Renjun having to call out those sending him insulting messages publicly.

Recently, a video of Mark and Chenle showed just how invasive sasaeng fans can truly be.
In a video shared on a social media app, Mark and Chenle are standing in what looks like the elevator area of a hotel. When the pair walk across the hallway to another open elevator, several fans can be seen recording them on their phones.
When the elevator opens, the pair walk inside as Mark pulls out what looks like a room key. Chenle briefly waves as the doors close, and Mark does not acknowledge the fans.
Many idols have expressed their discontent with situations like these, but, unfortunately, they continue to occur.
SM Entertainment have set up the Kwangya 119 service for instances like this and more, but fans have often complained of the ineffective nature of the program, which you can read more about below.
