Insiders Revealed Details Behind The Departure Of Jessica From Girls’ Generation
On June 21, 2015, screenshots of a “Catch Me If You Can” music video that included Jessica surfaced with the full music video leaking just hours later.
In addition, it was revealed that a Jessica & Krystal sub-unit had finished recording their album, as well as a music video. The album was cancelled, along with plans for a second season of program Jessica & Krystal.
Upon hearing the news, a prominent figure in the international SONE community, @RealSamchon, took to Twitter to reveal details about Jessica.
called a sone friend. he was unbelievably calm. he says "jessica wanted to quit anyway. it's just that she didn't finish it to the last."

yeah she was going to leave the team next year anyway…

Known to have a great deal of insider information about Girl’s Generation, RealSamchon stated that Jessica was initially supposed to go on hiatus after Girls’ Generation finished their dome tour on the 24th.
oh did I tell you jessica was going to leave anyway? the members prepared for her last stage tho…

Supposedly, Jessica’s initial plan was to go on hiatus following the Girl’s Generation Tokyo Dome tour, not leave the group altogether.
the company and the members prepared for a beautiful farewell at tokyo dome…which was screwed anyway…
— Samchon (@RealSamchon) June 21, 2015
As a whole, the group had mentally prepared for her leave, recorded “Catch Me If You Can” as their Tokyo Dome tour single, and decided on “Divine” to be Jessica’s farewell song to Sones before going on hiatus.
can you believe divine was the song for jessica's farewell?

CMIYC had to be Tokyo Dome concert single. Jessica's quit ruined the single and the other members had to record it again, after the concert.

It seems that Jessica had second thoughts, however, and wanted to stay in the group. Her members and company, who had already prepared for her farewell concert and her hiatus plans, appear to have been reluctant about allowing her to stay as a semi-active member.
you can never be girls' generation if you don't devote your soul. jessica wasn't fully into the team. let her do her business.
— Samchon (@RealSamchon) June 21, 2015
you can never be a team with an half-minded member. that's how jessica wanted to be a girls' generation member.

If true, this would support the wording behind Jessica’s breaking Weibo post on September 30th.
I was excited about our upcoming fan events only to shockingly be informed by my company and 8 others that as of today, I’m no longer a member. I’m devastated – my priority and love is to serve as a member of GG, but for no justifiable reason, I am being forced out..

RealSamchon’s information was confirmed by another well-known fan, John Yoo aka @Oniontaker, in his own series of tweets.
Pete Samchon is not incorrect. In an alternative reality where 9/30 didn't happen, on this day of 6/24, Jess would be on hiatus.

You can tell how long people have been involved in the fandom by seeing if they know who RealSamchon is or not lol
— John Yoo (@oniontaker) June 22, 2015
while doesn't mean he is to be ignored. I used to put him up there with Johnny and silis in terms of the ones that talked with the public.
— John Yoo (@oniontaker) June 22, 2015
When Jessica’s leave was first revealed, many were confused since SM had revealed earlier that year that the group had re-signed with the agency for another 3 years. However, Oniontaker addressed this topic as well.
Pro-tip: if your resident "insider" tells you that SM artists talk contracts with SM at any other time than the beginning of the year, run.

Meanwhile, Jessica has been busy with her company BLANC & ECLARE, is preparing for the release of her first novel, was featured in BEAUTY+, and has started her own YouTube channel.
