ITZY’s Ryujin And Yeji Went Viral For Their Bebe Rexha Dance Cover, And They’re Still Surprised At Where It Led Them
ITZY is receiving the royal treatment they deserve!
This time around, they were noticed by one of their favorite artists, American singer Bebe Rexha. Yeji and Ryujin were even given the opportunity to perform with her on stage last KCON 2022.
This was all thanks to their viral dance cover of her song “Break My Heart Myself” in the “MIX & MAX” segment of Studio Choom. Released in June 2022, it became an instant hit all over the world.
It garnered over thirty million views and is still being talked about today. Bebe Rexha herself also sent them praise through the comment’s section.
YOU GIRLS KILLED THIS!!! Obsessed ❤️

Despite the popularity of their dance cover as well as their general fame as a group, Yeji and Ryujin were still surprised at its virality. They confirmed this in the 106th episode of their YouTube series “ITZY? ITZY!”
Yeji: We got to do a special stage.
Ryujin: It’s “that” performance, the little ball that Yeji and Ryujin launched.
They were shocked at how far they were able to come thanks to that single performance. From practicing behind the scenes to filming with Studio Choom, they moved on to actually standing on stage with Bebe Rexha herself.
I never imagined we’d actually be doing this. I didn’t know it would become this big.
— Yeji
Yeji said that she had hopes she could meet the original singer but did not think they would be able to do more.
When the song was released, I was just wondering if we’d be able to meet. I’d never imagine we’d actually do a stage! It’s great to be able to do so today.
— Yeji
Ryujin commented that they were both in awe at the idea of their collaboration: “It’s really cool how we can meet her.” In fact, they were able to snap memorable photos with Bebe Rexha after the show, and they were even called “my girls” by her!
