IU Experiences Culture Shock During U.S. Concert
Soloist IU is experiencing culture shock!
She is currently on the North American leg of her 2024 HEREH World Tour, her first world tour, although it’s her ninth concert tour overall. Since it’s her first time performing concerts in the United States, IU is having lots of new experiences, which resulted in culture shock.
During her Newark, New Jersey, show at Prudential Center, IU revealed she was surprised by the American concert-goers standing for the entirety of her performance. It was her first U.S. show, so she wasn’t used to it yet.

In South Korea, standing is not common for concerts, although it’s practically mandatory (not really) in the U.S. Hence, IU gifting seat cushions at her concerts in Korea.
