IU And GOT7’s Jinyoung Wore The Same Cardigan But Served Different Vibes
Spoiler Alert
IU and GOT7‘s Jinyoung are both multi-talented, stylish legends, and they even once wore the same cardigan!
IU and Jinyoung both wore the same melange green cardigan from the South Korean fashion brand Insilence. The cardigan is named Button Wool Wrap cardigan, and it costs ₩111,000 KRW (about $94.40 USD).
Jinyoung actually appeared in the cardigan first. He’s currently starring as Yoo Babi in the K-Drama Yumi’s Cells.
In the webtoon the K-Drama is based on, Yumi (Kim Go Eun) and Babi date for a while after she breaks up with her current boyfriend, Gu Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun). As of now, however, Babi has only been introduced in the K-Drama as someone who works at the same company as Yumi.
When she met Babi, Yumi wasn’t sure whether he was just being friendly or if he was interested in dating her. To make it easier to figure out his motives, Yumi mentally replayed her conversations with Babi and imagined him as a woman. As Yumi reimagined her interactions with Babi, Jinyoung appeared as a female version of Babi and wore the Insilence cardigan.
Because Yumi’s Cells is a romantic comedy, Jinyoung’s appearance as female Babi was intended to be a funny moment. He used exaggerated facial expressions and gestures to make it easier for the audience to reimagine Babi as a woman as they watched him and Kim Go Eun recreate their previous conversations.
Jinyoung served overstated feminine vibes while appearing as female Babi in Yumi’s Cells. His comedic expressions and movements made it easier for both Yumi and the audience to imagine his character as a female friend of Yumi’s.
IU wore the same cardigan during an interview with Melon to promote her new digital single, “Strawberry Moon.”
IU tucked her cardigan into her jeans and finished off her look with a beret, as well as a delicate-looking necklace and earrings.
IU served casual, cool vibes in the cardigan.
Her cardigan and jeans combined to create a casual look, but she added a delicate, artsy, and slightly more glamorous vibe with her accessories and beret.
Whereas Jinyoung’s look as female Babi fit his role as a woman who was out for a stroll in the park, IU’s look was perfect for an interview. Although they served different vibes, both IU and Jinyoung rocked this cardigan!
