IU has recently been operating her own live singing show, IU’s Homebody Live, where she sometimes invites guests over to her cozy corner as well. On the episode trailer released on the 14th of July 2020, it seems that IU had called over OH MY GIRL‘s Seunghee and Hyojung as her special guest.

Not only did she reveal that she had once written lyrics with OH MY GIRL in mind, she also claimed to love the group as a fan. Needless to say, the girl group also returned her affections. What caught the eye of many longtime fans of IU though, was that IU was giving the exact same gaze to Seunghee as Yoo Hee Yeol once famously gave her back in her rookie days.

For those that have yet to witness the gem, as IU performed her acoustic medley on Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook ten years ago, the show host was absolutely enraptured by the young teenager’s sweet voice. The full clip can be watched here.

The moment spanned a meme in South Korea titled “IU, run away!” However, it seems that tables have turned a decade later, and fans are calling this “Seunghee, run away!” in a spoof to the original.

As IU looked lovingly at Seunghee while she sings, fans took delight in it. They even told Seunghee to not run away instead, probably as IU is so successful she often buys expensive gifts for her friends.
