This Japanese Man Spent $23,000 USD To Fulfill His Dream Of Becoming A Wolf

“I was amazed at my transformed self…”

Earlier, we reported on Toco (who has not shared his real name or other personal details), the Japanese man who commissioned a 2 million yen ($15,700 USD) collie costume to fulfill his dream of becoming a dog.

Toco has gone on to post videos to his YouTube channel where he trains to behave like a real-life dog.

Although there are netizens who may not understand Toco’s life, he has found overwhelming support in his online community. Furries, people who enjoy dressing in fursuits of different animals or mythical beasts, regularly gather at conventions to engage with their community and support each other.

And Toco isn’t the only one to request a custom fursuit from the modeling company Zeppet. Another Japanese man spent 3 million yen ($22,970 USD) to achieve his dream of living as a wolf.

The custom wolf suit took approximately fifty days to achieve a shockingly life-like result.

To perfectly design the suit, Zeppet’s staff studied images of wolves to make the suit as realistic as possible.

But to make the wolf suit sustainable for wear, Zeppet not only adapted to their client’s request of “[looking] like a real wolf walking on hind legs,” but they added a ventilation slit and made it possible for the man to put on the suit without help.

My order to ‘look like a real wolf walking on hind legs‘ was difficult – to say the least – but the complete suit looked exactly like what I imagined. Not only did the specs perfectly cover all of my preferences, but the ventilation slit for the wearer’s comfort and the devices that let the wearer put it on without help showed me that the designers paid close attention to the wearer’s comfort.

Although the buyer has not revealed any personal information, he shared that this dream stemmed from his childhood.

Because of my love for animals since childhood and some realistic animal suits appearing on TV, I dreamed of being one someday.

Finally, standing in front of the mirror in his finished wolf suit “was a moment when my dream came true.”

At the final fitting, I was amazed at my transformed self in the mirror. It was a moment when my dream came true.
