Jeon Somi Ran Into One Issue After Wrapping Her Rare Porsche In Gold For Her MV
Jeon Somi recently took fans behind the scenes of her “Gold Gold Gold” music video, showing her multiple style transformations, introducing viewers to some of her friends, and explaining some of the extravagant props on the music video set.
One of the props included a Porsche 964, which was manufactured between 1988 and 1994 and is the “rarest generation of [a Porsche] 911 ever made.”
Prices of the Porsche 964 can range, on average, from $80,000 – $200,000 USD+ depending on the vehicle’s year and features, condition, and more, according to current vehicle valuations from Hemmings.
To fit the song, the rare luxury vehicle was wrapped in gold, and Jeon Somi impressively revealed that the car was actually her own personal vehicle.
Somi added her car into the lyrics of the song and admitted she wrapped the car in gold thanks to the persuasion of her “oppas,” referring to members of her team, including THE BLACK LABEL producer 24.
She loved the idea and moved forward with wrapping the vehicle, looking forward to taking the newly wrapped car on the road.
When she expressed her desire to do so, she learned there was one problem… The wrap had to be removed after filming because the luxurious modification wasn’t street-legal because it reflected too much light.
While there was nothing wrong with modifying it for the music video, Somi had to remove the wrap before hitting the road.
She hilariously stated her “oppas” knew her so well that they removed the gold wrap “right after” filming so she wouldn’t be tempted to take it on a joy ride.
While she wasn’t able to drive the car while it was wrapped, it is forever immortalized in all of its gold glory in her “Gold Gold Gold” music video!
During her behind-the-scenes video, Jeon Somi revealed another little-known fact when she told fans about her tattoo location that came with a downside.
