From Stalking To Sexual Assault: The Heart-Stopping Sasaeng Encounters JYJ’s Jaejoong Faced
JYJ‘s Jaejoong is one of the most famous K-Pop idols of the early 2000s. As a former member of TVXQ, he experienced the highest of highs and lowest of lows when it comes to the effects of his popularity.
Regarding the latter, he has opened up about having a large number of sasaeng (obsessive) fans. In the special episode of Jae Friends, he recounted to The Boyz‘s Younghoon some of the most heart-stopping meetings he had with them.
Younghoon: I also, when I was young, heard about it through the news, TVXQ’s home invasion.
Jaejoong: It was natural that they came to my home…
At one point, Jaejoong received a photo from the sasaeng fan who managed to find his private phone number. The picture haunts him to this day.
This is really unbelievable. I was at home. I received a photo on my phone from an unknown number, a text message. I saw it then. [In the photo] was my back. It meant that they were in that house at that moment, right?

Fortunately, he did not encounter them face-to-face at the time.
It gives me goosebumps, but it was a little bit late when I found it. They already came in and took pictures here and there and sent it to me after leaving.

To Jaejoong, it was “creepy, but it’s just nothing.” He was also frequently followed no matter where he went and was even sexually assaulted in his sleep.
All of the [sasaengs] followed me even if I went to another neighborhood. It’s very strange. If I went to Gangdong-gu, they also had a house in Gangdong-gu.
There was also a private fan who was kissing me while I was sleeping. The girl who kissed me while I was sleeping was caught in my home. If that happened now, she might’ve gone to jail.
