JYJ’s Junsu Gets Real About Just How Crazy His Schedule Was At The Peak Of His Career
JYJ‘s Jaejoong and Junsu sat down with Cosmopolitan Korea for a rare interview as a duo.
At one point, they looked back on their past as singers. Besides being groupmates in JYJ, they were once among the most famous artists in South Korea as part of one of the oldest K-Pop groups TVXQ. They still remember their notoriously busy schedule in detail.
Tell me how busy you guys were. For instance, ‘There was a period when I did not sleep for three days.’

Junsu noted that staying awake for days in a row was child’s play for them: “Not sleeping for three days is not that bad.”
The hardest thing he faced was having to get on an airplane and travel between two countries multiple times a day. Minus the waiting time at the airport, each trip would take around two hours and forty minutes.
One time I had to travel between Korea and Japan three to four times within a day. So I had to sleep while I was traveling.

It was understandable that he felt tired. Jaejoong agreed with Junsu’s words, saying, “That’s right” regarding his memories of extreme fatigue.
I’d fall asleep immediately as soon as I sat down.

He looked on the current entertainment landscape and added that active K-Pop idols are likely also just as overworked as he was back then.
I don’t think idols these days do much different than what I used to do.
