NSFW K-Drama Is Shocking Netizens With Its Explicit, Graphic Scenes Months After Its Premiere
Content Warning
Spoiler Alert
K-Dramas are getting spicier and spicier.
From the makeout scene in Business Proposal…
…to the steamy bedroom scene in Nevertheless…
…to the infamous bathroom scene in Squid Game…
…to the sex scene in My Name…
…to the BDSM-centric film Love and Leashes.
Netflix is almost certainly at the scene of the crime.
Now, another Netflix K-Drama has been shocking viewers with its NSFW and graphic content still, although it premiered on November 18, 2022.
The K-Drama in question is the thriller Somebody. It stars Kim Young Kwang, Kang Hae Lim, Kim Yong Ji, and Kim Soo Yeon.
A software developer and her friends get caught in a web of murder and crime involving the dating app she built and a mysterious man lurking nearby.
— Netflix
Its story revolves primarily around a serial killer, so you can expect some graphic murders. Still, it is the sexual content that has viewers shocked AF.
Many were pleasantly surprised by a GL (Girl Love) relationship…
@kdramagwen #gl isn’t directly shown often in #kdrama so shout out to #somebody #somebodykdrama for pushing boundaries 👩❤️💋👩❣️👩❤️👩 #kdrama #hallyu #kimyoungkwang #kimyongji #kanghaelim #kimsooyeon #wlw #ikissedgirl

But it’s the straight people that have truly stunned viewers with explicit sexual content.
Kim Young Kwang’s character, Seong Yun O, has sex with a few different women throughout the show. In Episode 1, we watch him have sex with a woman in a bathtub briefly before murdering her. At the end, we see a graphic shot of her dead body as he looks for his next victim on an app.
One thing that’s different about Somebody is that nearly every episode contains scenes such as this.
Episode 3 is maybe the least graphic in terms of the woman as she keeps her clothes on, unlike him.
In Episode 7, there is quite a sex scene that one wouldn’t expect to see in a Korean show. It includes full-back and frontal nudity. It’s dark for the most part, so it does not appear as graphic as it really is, but you’ll also want to keep your volume low.
In Episode 8, Seong Yun O watches Kang Hae Lim’s character, Kim Sum, masturbate when he leaves her after nearly having sex. In a previous episode, she masturbated in a dimly lit room too.
This couple actually has sex a couple of times. Near the beginning of Episode 5, they briefly do it in a dark room…
In the morning, Kim Sum encourages him to do it again. This time, she wants to try cursing…
So, they have sex again. This time, it’s in daylight.
Naturally, viewers were shocked by the show, considering K-Drama’s wholesome reputation. This is anything but.

In the USA, it is rated MA, the highest rating for a TV show.
When you start an episode, it also lists the content for which it is rated.
So, viewer discretion is strongly advised.
