Kangnam’s Ex-Girlfriend Reveals Why She Broke Up With Him
Entertainer Kangnam (also known as Namekawa Yasuo) has been happily married to retired speed skater Lee Sang Hwa since 2019 but took a trip down memory lane for his YouTube channel when meeting his childhood friends—including his ex-girlfriend.
As Kangnam chatted with his longtime friends Tomo and Harumi, he admitted he couldn’t remember why he and Harumi had ended their romance in the past. So he asked her, “But why did we break up?”
Harumi confirmed that she and Kangmin hadn’t formally told each other they were breaking up. Instead, she remembered “distancing [herself] from him.” Kangnam couldn’t hold back his reaction after discovering who had ended their romantic relationship.
Naturally, Kangnam wanted to know why Harumi ended things. He asked, “So you dumped me. Why?”
Harumi made Kangnam burst into laughter when she said, “Because it was tiring.” She even shared the tough situations she was experiencing at the time that made a relationship with him too much to handle.
She revealed that her father’s passing made things difficult for her family and caused major changes in her life. So Harumi didn’t have enough energy to focus on taking care of Kangnam.

They all agreed on how one-sided their relationship was, especially with Harumi doing Kangnam’s homework and showering him with gifts. She ended their relationship as Kangnam went to Korea to begin his entertainment career. Now the longtime friends can reflect on their memories together and laugh about them all.
