KARA’s Youngji Names The Female Idol She Used To Be Jealous Of
Even though KARA‘s Youngji is known for her bubbly personality and cute visuals, the idol wasn’t always viewed that way.
She opened up about how it made her jealous of one female idol in particular.
When Gyuri and Youngji were interviewed by Pungja, the internet personality wondered if KARA ever had any rivalries with other girl groups. There was one Youngji couldn’t forget.
Since there was an adjustment period when Youngji joined KARA, she couldn’t fully shine and show her cute side. That wasn’t the case for OH MY GIRL, who’d also debuted around the same time as Youngji. KARA immediately fell in love with the rookie group for being adorable, especially their leader.
Years later, Gyuri still couldn’t hold back how cute she thought OH MY GIRL were. Youngji admitted, “Honestly, I got jealous a little. But I couldn’t say it then.”
Because Youngji and Hyojung were the same age, the former was jealous of how much the latter showed off her cuteness with aegyo (cute gestures).
When Pungja asked Youngji if she thought she was cuter than Hyojung, she immediately denied it. Youngji crowned Hyojung as the cutest between them.
As Youngji said, Hyojung is still cuter than ever—even eight years later. Still, Youngji is just as cute in her own way.
