Kim Jaejoong’s “JaeFriends” Staff Expose Their “Struggles” Mid-Episode
Kim Jaejoong launched his own talk show in 2023 titled JaeFriends. The popular show was recently renewed for a second season, which is already underway.
As part of the group’s unique premise, veteran idol Jaejoong is kept in the dark about who the episode’s guests will be and is only provided clues by staff members to guess who they are before summoning them onto the set.
Through the show, he’s reunited with multiple fellow second-generation K-Pop idols, such as Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung, TEEN TOP‘s Niel, INFINITE‘s Sungjong, CNBLUE‘s Jung Yonghwa, SISTAR‘s Bora and Hyolyn, and more.
For the show’s 24th episode, Jaejoong was joined by second-generation K-Pop idol, Brown Eyed Girls‘ Narsha, and actress Go Eun Ah.
The three shared that they have been longtime friends and proved their close friendship when the two guests hilariously poked fun at host Jaejoong throughout the episode.
At one point, Narsha revealed that she heard a few of theย JaeFriends staff members were “struggling because of Jaejoong.”
As the three hilariously scanned the faces of the staff members in the room, Jaejoong suspected it was one of the show’s writers who couldn’t meet his eye.
Jaejoong wanted to address the issue head-on and was encouraged by Narsha and Go Eun Ah to face the feedback from the JaeFriends staff members to be able to continue to “improve” his show.
Finally, the show’s writer spoke up and said she would appreciate it if Jaejoong read the “prompter better.” Narsha and Go Eun Ah playfully jumped in, saying, “Since we are here, why not be honest?” while explaining why it was important for Jaejoong to follow the prompter and how it affects work behind the scenes when he doesn’t.
Not following the prompter isn’t intentional for Jaejoong, as he often gets caught up in conversation with his guests, but he took their advice to heart, even if it was delivered mid-episode.
