An Actor Slapped Kim Tae Hee So Hard For A K-Drama That He Still Regrets It 20 Years Later
Stepping back into the spotlight after starring in 2020’s Hi Bye, Mama!, actress Kim Tae Hee is returning with Lies Hidden in My Garden. To promote her upcoming role, she appeared on MMTG and looked back on her past ones—including one with a painful slap.
MC Jae Jae couldn’t interview Kim Tae Hee without mentioning her iconic role as Han Yu Ri in 2003’s Stairway to Heaven. She played the part of the villain so well that viewers were on the edge of their seats.
And one of the scenes viewers were most curious about was the slap between Han Tae Hwa (played by actor Shin Hyun Joon) and Han Yu Ri.
The slap was so brutal that Jae Jae mentioned an article from February 2023, where Shin Hyun Joon said, “‘I slapped Kim Tae Hee hard… I still feel very sorry.’”
For Shin Hyun Joon to still feel regretful over how much force he put into the slap, Kim Tae Hee acknowledged his feelings. She said, “He must feel so bad.”
Since Kim Tae Hee didn’t appear to have any hard feelings about the scene, Shin Hyun Joon might be able to finally let some of those feelings go.
