KISS OF LIFE’s Julie Fulfills A Promise She Made To Her Parents Each Year She Was A Trainee

After six years, she did what she promised and more!

KISS OF LIFE debuted under S2 Entertainment in July 2023, with a promise to “breathe a new life into the music industry with their music and charm,” a purpose they captured in the group’s name.

In reality, the four “rookie” idols’ impact has stretched back much further than five months, with each member making a name for themselves within the industry before officially debuting.

Curator host HoonD asked Julie about the six years she spent as a trainee and wondered if her parents had ever expressed concern about her extended training period.

Julie acknowledged that her parents were worried while she was a trainee, as they all anxiously awaited her debut.

While waiting for her time to shine on stage, Julie revealed she had spent every year as a trainee watching K-Pop’s year-end award shows with her parents.

She would tell her parents each year, “Next year, I’m going to be there.

KISS OF LIFE filmed for Curator before their year-end award show appearances, and at the time, Julie had expressed her excitement at the prospect of sending her parents a photo of herself on one of the shows they had watched together for years.

Since the episode aired, Julie has certainly fulfilled her promise, attending and performing at multiple year-end award shows.

KISS OF LIFE also took home the “1theK Global Icon” award at the 2023 Melon Music Awards and won “Best New Artist” at the 31st Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards, only five months into their debut.
