Award-winning Parasite actress Cho Yeo Jeong recently revealed that she met Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio and that they bonded over their mutual love for BTS.
The actress was the fifth guest on Coupang Play‘s SNL Korea (Saturday Night Live Korea).
During a sketch from the episode, she told comedian Shin Dong Yeop the story behind her picture with DiCaprio at the 92nd Academy Awards. She attended the awards ceremony with the cast and crew of Parasite, which ultimately won four awards.
DiCaprio met with them, but when he spoke with Cho Yeo Jeong, they were able to connect over none other than BTS. She had asked him the go-to icebreaker for all Koreans when meeting foreigners: “Do you know BTS?”

And the icebreaker worked too! He not only knows BTS but shared that he is a fan of “Blood Sweat & Tears!” A man of taste, we see.

The conversation must have gone pretty well because afterward, he even asked for her number…

Cho Yeo Jeong added that, when asking for her number, he actually called her another famous Korean actress’s name, Youn Yeo Jung, the first Korean actress to win an Academy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Indie Spirit Award, and British Academy Film Award, for her role in Minari. But she was able to correct him, and it gave them even more to talk about.
That’s when he called me Youn Yeo Jung. I think he got the names confused and thought I’m Yoon Yeo Jung. So I told him I’m Cho Yeo Jung and even taught him about the origins of my last name!

Her conversation with Leo was not the only time BTS was brought up during the SNL Korea episode. While on the phone in a sketch, she also namedropped BTS’s V along with Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and even God. It was meant to show what a superstar she is that she knows everybody.
While Leonardo DiCaprio certainly knows BTS, does BTS know DiCaprio? In the Run BTS! x The Game Caterers special, V was asked to identify the actor based on his photo, and he replied, “RiCaprio!”
This isn’t the only connection V has to the actor, either. He imitated DiCaprio’s titular character from The Great Gatsby in Peakboy‘s music video for “GYOPO HAIRSTYLE.” So… BTS x Leo collab when?
