Korean news anchor openly mocks Tiffany during news and refuses to apologize
On August 16th and 17th KST, news anchor Kim Myung Joon of MBN openly mocked Tiffany by referring to her SNS controversy on Korea’s independence day.
On an episode of “News Fighter” aired on August 16th and 17th, news anchor Kim Myung Joon of MBN mocked Tiffany while reciting the news of the day.
On the morning of the 16th, he threw a question to the viewers
“How did you all enjoy the independence day special movie this morning? Of course by movie I’m referring to “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” the frustrating commotion SNSD Tiffany has caused this morning”
On the 17th he relayed the news of Korea’s defeat in a game of Olympic badminton where they were beaten by the Japanese Olympic team. The anchor again mocked Tiffany saying,
“Congratulations miss Tiffany” implying that Tiffany favors Japan over Korea
While the online forum for the said TV show was flooded by hate from angry fans, many Koreans who came across this thought it was humorous and satisfying that someone had called Tiffany out.
MBN officially addressed the issue stating, “It was a rough expression but as the program is of a satirical nature where the PD, writer and the anchor work together to express what is said we have no intention of apologizing or taking what we said back.”
