K-Pop Fans Compare The Lightsticks Of Four Popular Rookie Boy Groups

“I really hope that Riize is just doing some trolling…”

Yesterday, SM Entertainment released a teaser for RIIZE‘s upcoming lightstick, and it was met with responses that ranged from disappointed to amused to downright denial. In the wake of its release, K-Pop fans have taken to an online forum to talk about the lightstick designs of four different groups, including RIIZE, and how they compare to each other.

The most “conventional” lightstick design of the four is undoubtedly BOYNEXTDOOR‘s. Sticking with the standard globe shape of the majority of K-Pop lightsticks, the inside design features a cute house that perfectly suits the boy group’s name.

One of the designs that’s much less traditional is ZEROBASEONE‘s lightstick — or rather, light ring, to be more accurate. Theirs is in the shape of a large ring with a flower-like design decorating the edge; it’s similar to ITZY‘s lightstick/light ring, just with more to the design.

Arguably the most unique design on the list belongs to virtual boy group PLAVE. Though it hasn’t officially been released yet, their creative dumbbell design won a poll voted on by fans, and it will be exciting to see how it ends up being interpreted and constructed! Fans are hopeful that both sides of the dumbbell will light up, which would make for a very unique design.

And finally, of course, is the aforementioned RIIZE lightstick. The teaser clearly depicts a cartoon-like hand with the thumb and index finger extended, and some netizens have jokingly called it a “PG version” of Epik High‘s lightstick.
