The Legendary Female K-Pop Idol Who Pioneered The "Pantsless" Fashion Trend

Recently, LE SSERAFIM‘s Yunjin and Chaewon got mixed reactions for the outfits they’re wearing in the comeback trailer “Good Bones”.

The two members drew attention for their “underwear” fashion in the video, with some netizens even calling the looks “trashy” and “too much”. Others, however, didn’t see a problem with the outfit choice, and find the look edgy and cool.

It has sparked a conversation online about more “scandalous” outfits worn by K-Pop idols throughout the years, and one female soloist’s name came up as a pioneer for the “pantsless” trend in the industry: Uhm Junghwa.

The legendary singer went for the controversial look during the promotional stages for her song “Come To Me” in 2006, flaunting her gorgeous figure.

She was 37 at the time, making the risqué outfits even more surprising and impressive due to her being “older” than the average active K-Pop idol.

But she looked effortlessly cool and confident in the bold and daring style, and helped to pave the way for female idols in terms of freedom of expression in their clothing.
