The Rare Type Of K-Pop Merchandise That Only Four Groups Have Ever Released
K-Pop companies can get pretty creative when it comes to making merchandise for their artists. While clothing, posters, lightsticks, and other accessories are common, there have been a number of creations that are much more unique and sometimes odd.
However, there’s one piece of merch that, while not the strangest to ever be created, is extremely rare and unique in its own way. That’s because the Korean government or Korean Post itself had to give its approval, due to the nature of the product.
That rare type of merchandise comes in the form of official postage stamps!
At this time, there are only four K-Pop groups who have had the honor of having postage stamps made in their likeness: Girls’ Generation, BIGBANG, Super Junior, and BTS.
Each group earned their way onto South Korea’s postage stamps through various accomplishments they have had. Generally speaking, they all contributed greatly to spreading Korean culture and helped boost the economy in the country, positively impacting those that live there.
BTS’s were made most recently as a celebration of their 10th anniversary since debut, and unsurprisingly, they sold out incredibly quickly, with the 120,000 pre-order stamp sheets selling out in just three hours.
It’s hard to say if or when another K-Pop group will make a big enough impact on Korean culture and society to be given the honor of having postage stamps made in their image, so these four artists are definitely in a league of their own!
