K-Pop’s Steamiest NSFW Music Video Dropped In 2004… And It Was Banned From Daytime TV
Way back in 2004, soloist Chaeyeon — more commonly known as the OG Sexy Queen of the era — gained tremendous popularity with her catchy dance track, “Two of Us”. She had the entire nation hooked on the “Na-na na na” chorus, as well as the iconic dance that went with it.
Yet when the music video for “Two of Us” dropped, it soon became banned from airing on daytime television. Korean fans could only watch the MV in sporadic occasions, on certain cable channels, after 10PM. Why? Well… It was deemed too racy. Though the music video starts off in moderation…
… Chaeyeon is soon half naked on her bed. She is seen taking off her silky gown and revealing her bare back, while a man is seemingly sneaking peeks at her — and while that may seem not-too-shocking in 2020, it had been plenty enough to stun the more conservative audience back in early 2000s.
Plus, the half-nakedness is only the tip of the iceberg. At one point, Chaeyeon takes this dramatic leap at the man…
… and they get really “down and dirty”, so to speak.
The steam builds and builds throughout the music video…
… until the two of them finally reach the bed and Chaeyeon is straight-up giving the man a private show!
She also gives him a full on lap dance that is, quite indeed, NSFW period:
With that said, perhaps it makes a bit more sense why this caused such an uproar in the olden days. Even to this day, fans re-watch this MV and admit that it is definitely one of the most dangerously erotic MVs of K-Pop history!
- “I remember watching this as an elementary school student and being shook AF… It’s definitely way too racy for the time.”
- “To be honest…? This was like porn for me when I was a kid.”
- “I’d say this is probably considered too racy now too, no?”
- “Oh wowza… I’ve never seen this before, but this is… This is something.”
- “LOL, yes. And I also remember awkwardly turning the channel whenever this came on while I was watching TV with my parents.”
