LABEL V’s Building In China Appears To Be Getting Demolished – What Does This Mean For WayV?
As fans of the group know, WayV is one of several subunits of NCT.
The group is NCT’s China-based subunit, having their own label, called Label V, created to exclusively handle their activities in China. In the past, the label has been the target of criticism and accusations of mismanagement.
Recently, fans began to wonder what was happening with the label after the group’s posters were removed from the windows, leaving the building looking empty.
Not long after, a netizen shared photos showing the building in demolition stages, with locks placed on one of the entrance gates. Though the building was previously considered abandoned on different occasions, this seems to be a final indication.
But what would the closure of Label V mean for WayV?
As of late, WayV’s activities in China have been far and in between, with the group most recently performing at Tencent’s Music Entertainment Awards. Their Phantom fan meeting tour also did not have any mainland China dates.
Later in the year, this is set to change — following the full NCT comeback scheduled for August, WayV were tentatively scheduled to begin preparations for their second full-length album and a China showcase tour.
SM Entertainment will likely handle these plans through the recently established SM C&C (Beijing). In its first official post, SM C&C (Beijing) shared that it would “work together” with the Chinese artists under the label, including WayV.
Hi everyone! SM C&C (Beijing) has opened its official Weibo today!
Going forward, we will work together with many outstanding, well-rounded artists of the new generation, including Zhou Mi, Renjun, Chenle, WayV, and Ningning! Forging ahead with passion while chasing their dreams!
Thank you to the fans who’ve always supported us. We ask for your continued interest in the future!

This likely means that Label V’s potential dissolution would not affect WayV, as a new entity exists for their China-based activities.
