LE SSERAFIM Didn’t Think They’d Get Along At First, Here’s Why

LE SSERAFIM recently wrapped up promotions for their debut track, “FEARLESS.” As a surprise celebration, their staff took them to have a “day off.” Because of the celebration, the members all felt emotional, opening up to each other about some of the struggles they endured together as trainees.

Chaewon was the first member to share that she’s actually surprised by how close the members became.

I didn’t know I would get so close to you guys. I didn’t know we’d get so close so fast.

Yunjin quickly agreed, admitting that she actually worried about getting along with the rest of LE SSERAFIM.

I can be honest now. I was really worried at first. I didn’t think I would ever get close to you all.

— Yunjin

Chaewon explained that her concerns had nothing to do with her members. She was just worried that she would be too introverted to open up quickly.

It always takes a lot of time for me to make friends so I was worried. I didn’t know it would happen this fast.

— Chaewon

Although she’s also an introvert, Sakura shared that she made an active effort to try and get close to her members.

For me, I made some efforts back then. I tried to talk more.

— Sakura

And she also mentioned that a part of the reason she talked so much was to try and help Kazuha overcome the language barrier, which, since Kazuha speaks Korean so well now, Sakura doesn’t need to do as often anymore.

But now, you talk well on your own. Now I have to rest sometimes.

— Sakura

Even maknae Eunchae admitted that she had reservations about the group.

I was so worried too.

— Eunchae

Her members teasingly pointed out that, as Eunchae was the last trainee to join their debut line-up, they were more concerned about how Eunchae would fit in.

You were the worry, Eunchae!

— Chaewon

The worry came especially since Eunchae seemed closed-off to the other members at first.

Are you [that closed off] to other people too?

— Chaewon

Eunchae explained that it’s simply because she’s “shy.”

But Eunchae still defended her initial concerns.

The rest of you were already close, and you’re all older than me so it was harder.

— Eunchae

And, of course, despite their generally introverted natures, all of LE SSERAFIM truly became close to each other during promotions.

We became closer during the promotion.
