It’s not easy being a villain… against Ma Dong Seok.

In the latest episode of My Little Old Boy, actor Lee Joon Hyuk guested on the show to promote his upcoming K-Movie, The Roundup: No Way Out.

Lee revealed that he was cast as the ultimate villain in The Roundup: No Way Out even before its prequel, The Roundup, had premiered. It was his co-star and the franchise’s lead, Ma Dong Seok (also known as Don Lee), that recommended Lee for the role!

Before ‘The Roundup’ premiered, Ma Dong Seok called me out of the blue. He said that the movie is being released in theaters soon and that he had a good feeling about its success. And he offered if I’d like to be a part of the third sequel. Right around that time, I was looking for a similar role. So I was super interested and accepted it right away.

When show host Seo Jang Hoon asked Lee about the intense fight scenes from the action thriller, the actor recalled shooting on set with Ma.

Lee explained that, while all scenes were filmed with proper protective gear and with great caution, he did feel frightened at times…

…because of how “massive” Ma Dong Seok is!

I mean… He has some massive fists. And he’s big. So, rightfully, there were moments when I felt frightened. We all wore protective gears and all. But I’ve made some sounds that I’ve never heard from myself before. I was all grunting ‘Ugh!’ and ‘Ack!’ without even realizing.

The Roundup: No Way Out is set to premiere May 31 in Korea and June 2 in the US.
