Do you recognize her?

HYBE recently uploaded a video titled “HYBE Trainees tell about Trainee Life,” where 22 trainees of the girl group debut project R U Next? talked about the stereotypes and lifestyles associated with being a K-Pop idol trainee.

One of the topics that was addressed was if any of the trainees have K-Pop celebrity friends. A Japanese trainee named RUKA shared that she is friends with LE SSERAFIM‘s Sakura and that they still keep in touch.

Another stereotype addressed was that people think many idol trainees “appeared on shows or content in the past.” Trainees who had a past in the entertainment industry prior to becoming a trainee were asked to step up.

One of the trainees who stepped up was JEONGEUN.

JEONGEUN revealed that before she was a K-Pop trainee under HYBE, she was an actress in the movie Extreme Job.

Extreme Job is a movie from 2019 about five narcotics detectives who pretend to work at a chicken joint while trying to catch criminals, only to have their chicken business flourish in popularity. It stars actors Ryu Seung Ryong, Lee Hanee, Jin Seon Kyu, Lee Dong Hwi, and Gong Myung. This movie had positive reviews in Korea, and it became one of the highest-grossing films in South Korean film history.

One of her famous scenes was when she enters the house exclaiming, “Mom, they made me student captain,” when her mother was in the midst of complaining about a neighborhood captain who is bugging her.

With the help of fellow trainee Haseul, Jeongeun reenacted this line from the movie in the R U Next video.

JEONGEUN is currently 18 and dropped out of school before entering high school because she wanted to focus on one thing. For the past three years, she has been practicing hard to become a K-Pop idol.
