Meet The Director Of BTS And Coldplay’s “My Universe” Music Video
BTS and Coldplay recently released their collab “My Universe,” and we can’t get enough of it! The music video for the track is set to be released tonight, and we know it’s going to be incredible.
Both BTS and Coldplay are known for their beautiful, cinematic music videos, so it’s no wonder that fans are super excited to see what they came up with. Considering they also worked with one of the most sought-after American directors, we’re sure the “My Universe” video will be unforgettable.
Meet Dave Meyers!
Dave Meyers was born and raised in Berkeley, California, and he first developed his love of film while working at a local movie theatre. Then, he attended Loyola Marymount University and graduated with a degree in Film Production and Philosophy.
Although he directed Foolish, a comedy film, in 1999 and a remake of director Michael Bay‘s The Hitcher in 2007, Dave Meyers has focused mostly on directing music videos for some of music’s top stars.
He’s directed music videos in all genres. Perhaps you saw the video for Juvenile’s “Back That Thang Up,” which was directed by him.
He directed DMX‘s “Party Up (Up in Here)” too.
You might have seen the video he directed for “Get Ur Freak On” by Missy Elliott.
He directed Janet Jackson‘s “All For You” video.
He also directed “Radar” by Britney Spears.
He directed Camila Cabello‘s “Havana,” too.
He’s worked with Ariana Grande on many of her most popular videos, including “No Tears Left to Cry,” “God Is a Woman,” and “Positions.”
He directed “Adore You” by Harry Styles, too.
He directed Billie Eilish‘s “Bad Guy” and Normani‘s “Motivation” as well.
He worked with Coldplay earlier this year on the video for “Higher Power,” which makes “My Universe” his second video with them as well as his very first video with BTS.
In addition to the over 200 music videos he’s directed, Dave Meyers has also directed commercials for some of the most recognizable brands, including Adidas, Apple, Doritos, Mercedes Benz, ESPN, Nike, Olay, Starbucks, State Farm, Target, Twitter, and Volvo.
Dave Meyers is known for his ability to bring artist’s wildest visions to life, and he has won numerous awards throughout his career as acknowledgment of his talents, including Grammys for Missy Elliott’s “Lose Control” and Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble.”
