Meme King V: BTS Fans Spot A Hilarious Reference In The Singer’s Latest Instagram
Though BTS‘s V might have an intimidatingly beautiful face, it is no secret that he can break into goofy shenanigans at any given moment, thanks to his playful personality. And his Instagram account stands as vivid evidence of this fact.
The singer often updates fans about his life through Instagram, mostly with random photo dumps. That means, sometimes, you get photos of his breathtaking visuals, along with some inexplicable snaps, like a solitary lizard hanging out on the walls or an artwork made out of mosquito bites on his hand.
The past few weeks have been pretty busy for the singer, as he traveled to France for a fashion event organized by CELINE. V was also spotted at Naomi Campbell‘s birthday party in the city of Cannes, along with BLACKPINK‘s Lisa and actor Park Bogum, who are also the brand ambassadors of CELINE.
After returning to Korea, V shared several pictures from his trip and Naomi’s party on his Instagram.
Those were followed by a separate post, compiling quite a few pictures of him sporting different looks created by CELINE. Though it looked like those were from a photo shoot, the vibe was more casual than an official setting, with V roaming the streets of Cannes.
V’s face card came through in all the pictures, as usual, but fans found an uncanny similarity between one of the pictures and a popular meme on social media. The meme in question is actually a picture of former American basketball player Shaquille O’Neal trying to hide behind a tree that barely covered his body. V posed in almost a similar fashion behind a pole, with a playful expression.
Knowing tae's humour I'm so sure he saw this meme somewhere and decided to recreate it 😭 pic.twitter.com/xfA98MsZZD

The very next photo was a cute pouting face of V, apparently imitating the painting on the wall right beside him. These two photos, in succession, made the assumptions even stronger that the idol was being playful with his post and that not all the pictures were meant to be serious.
This is definitely not the first time V has recreated a meme consciously. Fans were taken aback when he kept recreating meme dances on stage during BTS’s tour in 2019. In the behind-the-scenes video of “Dynamite,” he was the one who instigated the others to recreate a popular Korean meme-dance move.

One thing about V, if there is a chance to be unserious, he will take it.
