Frustrated Korean Singer Dropped His Pants On Live TV
How far would you go to prove a rumor false? One singer was willing to flash the media to stop them from reporting on what he has–or doesn’t have–in his pants.
Legendary singer Na Hoon A, nicknamed the “Emperor of Trot,” rose to fame in the 1970s and has remained popular ever since. He’s also known for unzipping himself in front of about 500 people — and everyone else who was watching his live news conference from home.
It all started when Na Hoon A suddenly canceled his annual concert at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts at the last minute, reportedly costing his agency thousands of dollars in deposits paid to book the venue. Rumors about Na Hoon A’s disappearance ran rampant, distressing the singer, implicating two actresses, and launching a police investigation.
One particularly salacious rumor claimed that Na Hoon A had been castrated by a jealous Japanese gangster. Why? Because he was allegedly having an affair with a popular actress — who was dating the mob boss. Actresses Kim Hye Soo and Kim Sun A both denied rumors that they were the gangster’s paramour, Actress “K.”
I think Kim Hye Soo and Kim Sun A are shocked by these rumors. They might continue to suffer from the aftermath. I was not castrated and I have nothing to do with the women. All these internet users spreading false rumors should apologize. You journalists should protect the actresses.

At the press conference, held at the Grand Hilton Hotel in Seoul, Na Hoon A expressed his anger and emotional distress to the reporters present. “The media killed me with their pens,” he said. “I had no choice but to call a press conference to correct the wrongs.”
To prove the rumors false once and for all, Na Hoon A climbed up on a table, unzipped his pants, and lowered his pants. Reporters shrieked in response as the televised broadcast hastily cut away from Na Hoon A. The actor exposed his underwear but nothing more.
You don’t believe me? I have to show you.

So, if Na Hoon A wasn’t recovering from a gangster’s attack, where was he during his absence? As it turns out, he was just taking a well-deserved vacation.
It was just a vacation. When I finished my concert in 2006, I planned to refresh myself. While on vacation, I traveled to Jeolla and Gangwon provinces. I also enjoyed visiting 14 countries. I recently returned to Korea, and I am healthy.
