NCT Haechan’s Evolution From SM Rookies To Multi-million Seller

In honor of his 7 years since debuting as a member of SM Rookies, here is a look at NCT Haechan‘s journey from a trainee, to rookie, to multi-million seller!

In 2013, Haechan passed the legendary “Saturday Audition” thanks to his unique and stable voice.

Haechan sang Justin Bieber’s “Baby” for an evaluation while training. 

He sang “Hello” by Huh Gak for his audition!

Then on July 17, 2014, he debuted as a member of SM Rookies using his birth name Donghyuck.

Other SM Rookies members included idols who debuted alongside Haechan in NCT as well as Red Velvet‘s line-up and aespa‘s Ningning!

Haechan endeared audiences with his raw talent and bright personality. Even as a rookie, his confidence and wit made him a natural moodmaker!

He went on to be a regular cast member on Mickey Mouse Club with Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung.

The five of them were known as “Baby TVXQ” during their trainee days due to their high potential!

In 2016, Haechan made his debut as part of the starting line-up for NCT 127.

Then he debuted again that same year as a member of NCT DREAM!

He was one of the 18 members of NCT’s full-group project, NCT 2018.

And made his debut in the rotational unit NCT U in 2019 with their ballad “Coming Home!”

He works hard as a member of multiple units, and continues to shine even more with back-to-back releases!

He participated in NCT 2020 with the idol group’s current team of 23 members.

Haechan showed his versatility by providing his sweet vocals to the album’s ballad “From Home.”

And demonstrated his charisma and powerful dance through the hip-hop track “90s Love!”

He became a million seller thanks to the sales from NCT 2020’s Resonance albums.

And continued beating his record with NCT DREAM’s Hot Sauce and Hello Future!

This currently puts Haechan’s album sales at over 6 million! He once said he dreams of being a million seller, and now he’s smashed that goal.

On the anniversary of Haechan’s debut in SM Rookies, fans were showing their love for the idol.

Sunflowers are so proud of him and can’t wait to see what the idol does in the future!
