On June 7, Netflix‘s upcoming K-Drama Hierarchy is set to premiere.
The new series features a cast of rising young actors, including Lee Chae Min, known for his role in Crash Course In Romance, which has excited many.
According to Netflix, the series will be set in a prestigious high school where an outsider, driven by revenge, disrupts the school’s established hierarchy.
At Jooshin High School, the air is thick with privilege and hidden agendas. This elite playground is ruled by school queen Jung Jae I (Roh Jeong Eui) and her boyfriend, Kim Ri An (Kim Jae Won), known as the king. Their reign is unchallenged until Kang Ha (Lee Chae Min), a scholarship student with a vendetta, transfers in. Driven by revenge, his presence begins to disrupt the intricate web of relationships at the top. Alongside them, Yoon He Ra (Chi Hae Won) and Lee Woo Jin (Lee Won Jeong) complete the circle of exclusive students who govern the school.

However, some viewers already have some less-than-positive feelings about the show.
As previously stated, the high school setting features an established hierarchy and an “undeserving” newcomer, showing that bullying and revenge are part of the plot as seen in the trailers.
This sort of concept has been seen very often in K-Dramas recently, including the popular The Glory and Pyramid Game. Several other dramas have included it in the story, even if it was not part of the main plot.
In a subreddit discussing the new drama, many expressed their thoughts and disappointment with yet another drama featuring teenage bullying.

On the other hand, these types of series have remained popular, a potential reason for another being produced and aired.
