Back in 2021, Single’s Inferno introduced viewers to its first cast of singles, who came to a desert island (Inferno) to find love. The female cast consisted of Shin Ji Yeon, Kang So Yeon, Ahn Ye Won, Song Ji A, Kim Su Min, and Seong Min Ji. Kim Hyeon Joong, Moon Se Hoon, Kim Jun Sik, Choi Si Hun, Oh Jin Taek, and Cha Hyun Seung made up the male cast.

In the finale, four couples left the island–Ji A and Hyeon Joong, Ji Yeon and Se Hoon, So Yeon and Jin Taek, Ye Won and Jun Sik–but one change could have changed the results completely.

In a recent interview, Kim Jae Won revealed that the producers had wanted to cast one of the singles who later appeared in Single’s Inferno 4: Yuk Jun Seo. They found Jun Seo’s “wild, untamed quality” appealing and well-suited for the setting.

When we were first developing ‘Single’s Inferno,’ [Jun Seo] was someone we had in mind as an ideal cast member. He had that wild, untamed quality. And we really wanted to cast him from the beginning because we felt he would blend well with the natural environment of the deserted island.

What would Season 1 have been like with Jun Seo in the cast? We’ll never know now, but at least he finally made it to Inferno. Better late than never, right?
