We love Edvasian and his antics. From perming his hair to look like Jungkook to bleaching his hair to emulate his visuals, he’s really dedicated to creating K-Pop stan content. Edvasian is like a real-life episode of Scooby-Doo or some other 80s cartoon where the main characters are always up to something. So, what’s he up to this time? Faking his death? Faking Jungkook’s death? Nah bro, he’s out there being a whole fake K-Pop idol! 😂
Today, I’m going to create a fake Instagram identity as a K-Pop idol trainee.

For his elaborate scheme, he plans that his alter-ego will be posing as a trainee for JYP Entertainment.
I also picked JYP as the company that I’m training under because I feel like it’s the most believable. SM standards for visuals are unattainable for me, even with, like, a filter. YG only wants baddie, edgy vibes, while Big Hit already has BTS, so…

Edvasian shares that he has roughly 40,000 followers on his Instagram account, so if he could get around 4,000 people to follow him on a fake account, he would consider the experiment a success. He originally planned to use a fake Korean name generator but decided to use an English name to really sell the story of him being Korean Canadian. (Also, he was concerned about pronunciation issues. lol)
In a show of commitment to the scheme, his first uploaded picture was of a practice room.
Decided to use the FaceApp, he blended his face with an existing K-Pop idol’s… And, after some trial and error, well, it turned out pretty darn good!

Edvasian boosted Ian on his Instagram account, however…
… Some of his followers were on to him!
Not one to give up, he uploaded a clip of his friend dancing under the pretense of it being “Ian”. The slick move gained him several hundred more followers.
On March 13, he ended up coming clean about the experiment to his followers, switching things up so that instead of trying to fool them, he and his followers would be in the ruse together!
If you know anyone who likes K-Pop or would possibly be a fan of Ian’s, send them Ian’s Instagram account and be like, ‘Hey, look at this guy. He’s cute, right?’

Thanks to his fans tireless dedication, “Ian” even got his own fansite! (Honestly, this is the kind of energy we all need in our lives.)
