NewJeans Hanni’s Australian Accent Caught TXT’s Beomgyu Off Guard
HYBE‘s newest girl group NewJeans has two Australian members: the Korean Australian Danielle and the Vietnamese Australian Hanni.
At the 2022 Melon Music Awards (MMAs), Hanni gave a speech that caught TXT‘s Beomgyu off guard with her distinct accent.
As NewJeans accepted their award, Hanni spoke in English, “I’d like to thank all our international fans for always unconditionally supporting us.” Beomgyu was immediately surprised to hear the idol’s distinct Australian accent.
Because Hanni looks like a normal K-Pop idol, fans could understand why Beomgyu was surprised and enjoyed seeing his reaction.
Beomgyu also proved he’s indeed BTS‘s junior for reacting the same way they did when hearing Stray Kids‘ Bang Chan‘s Australian accent.
