North Korean Audience Freezes In Shock When They Hear BTS’s “Fire”
About 20 members of South Korea’s World Taekwondo (WT) presented a 50-minute performance in front of a North Korean audience in Pyongyang along with the other artists from South Korea.
The performance, which was themed “Ignite Your Heart”, grabbed the attention of the audience in the beginning.
However, as soon as BTS’s “Fire” came on, the expressions on the face of the audience turned sour. They did not budge even when they were encouraged to clap.
Although there is no clear answer as to why the North Korean audience gave such a response to the song, some say it could be due to the lyrics of the song which is about how the younger generation should live out their passion.
- “I wonder what they’re imagining is on fire…”
- “Seoul on fire~”
- “Pyeongyang on fireㅋㅋㅋ”
- “Coup d’etat go”
- “Their the ones who kept threatening to set on fireㅋㅋㅋ”
