Where Is She Now? The Former Trainee Who Alleged Red Velvet’s Irene Bullied Her

She was a trainee at two “Big 3” companies.

In late 2020, a stylist uploaded a post criticizing an unnamed female idol, saying that her poor manners and behavior led him to tears.

Today, I found myself in the position of an “eul” (person in a subordinate position to “gap”) and got thoroughly stepped on by someone. Even before I met her, other people told me that I needed to be mentally prepared to meet her.

Today, I was at the brunt of her electric needles and lost my words. I stood still as if my hands, feet, and brain were tied up. I became a fool as I could not do anything in front of someone that was looking at me with such distaste while shuddering. I was hit endlessly by the knives she threw out with her tongue, and so I cried. I couldn’t be bothered with caring about who I was in front of. I just couldn’t contain my tears. #psycho #monster

The stylist used the hashtags #monster and #psycho, leading netizens to believe the idol in question was Red Velvet‘s Irene.

The same day the post was circulated, SM Entertainment announced that Irene had personally met with the stylist and apologize, posting an apology message on Instagram as well.

In the midst of this issue, a former trainee named Mone Fukuhara‘s past claim of being bullied by Irene resurfaced.

Mone Fukuhara was a trainee at SM Entertainment for 10 months before moving to JYP Entertainment, leaving the company after the filming of Sixteen was over.

In an old comment from around the time she was 14 years old on her YouTube channel, she alleged that Irene had bullied her.

She followed up this claim with two tweets, one reiterating her statement, and another making a clarification on what she said.

Her “confession” was highly criticized at the time, resulting in the deactivation of her X account. Mone, then a vlogger on YouTube, stopped posting, and did not return to the platform until 2022 with a dance cover.

She shared that the reason was that because she began working full-time and she wasn’t sure how often would be able to upload content.

Since then she’s only posted two more videos, with the most recent being a short cover of LE SSERAFIM’s “ANTIFRAGILE.”

She has since graduated from college, and is currently working as a producer at a high profile marketing and advertisement agency in Japan.
