Entertainment agencies have been criticized for oversexualizing K-Pop idols, especially girl groups, like seen in the recent case of Cignature‘s music video and the treatment of member Jeewon.

In the case of KISS OF LIFE, fans have recently offered another perspective with proof.
Since their debut, KISS OF LIFE have expressed a desire to be known as “hot girls,” something seen in how their albums are planned.
According to creative director Lee Hae In, Julie will make a plan for the album and give it to the company, rather than how the reverse usually happens. The members each have played a part in their comebacks since debut, giving their opinions directly to the company.
The fact that their team is made up of many women, rather than men as was being assumed was also brought up.

Most importantly, fans have reminded that KISS OF LIFE are all adults, and that being sexy is a choice that women can make without any outside influence. Much of KISS OF LIFE’s concept is about female strength and empowerment, which includes the choice of being sexy.
Additionally, fans have pointed out that the youngest member, 19-year-old Hanuel, was dressed more conservatively than the others and was not included in any of the viral moments that pushed the edge.
