Park Myung Soo Straight Up Denied BTS When They Were Rookies — Does He Regret It?
In an episode of KBS Cool FM‘s Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show, the South Korean entertainer revealed the time he rejected BTS when they were rookies.
Active in television and music since the 1990s, Park Myung Soo has met numerous idols in his time as a singer, television personality, and radio host. These days, Park considers himself a BTS fan, once revealing that he wants to collaborate with the group. He even shared that his daughter dreams of marrying a BTS member.
All of BTS songs are great but Dynamite is especially good. It is very modern and i wondered, “how were they able to make such a song”. They sang well too. That could be why they received acknowledgement from Billboard as well.

However, he wasn’t always a fan of BTS. In an episode of his self-titled radio show on KBS, Park Myung Soo recalled a time he rejected the group’s advances.
BTS’s J-Hope was known to be a big fan of Infinite Challenge, the variety show Park Myung Soo hosted from 2015 to 2018. So, when the group happened to bump into Park in an airport bathroom, it’s no surprise they asked for a picture. According to the TV host, the interaction took place around 2014, long before BTS became worldwide superstars.
In the past, 7 celebrities greeted [me] as, “We are BTS”, in the washroom, and they asked if they could get a pic with me.

However, instead of obliging the young rookies’ request, Park Myung Soo reveals he told them, “Ya, just go.” Although the interaction happened eight years ago, Park Myung Soo says he still regrets it.
It seems that everything changed once BTS achieved their incredible success. When the group was talking the world by storm with Love Yourself in 2018, shortly after they became the first K-Pop group to perform at the American Music Awards, they were excited to run into Park Myung Soo again in a Gimpo Airport bathroom.
BTS saw me and they all said, ‘Wow, it’s a celebrity!’

This time, however, the host was just as excited to meet them. He revealed they took a photo together, and his only regret was not asking for their phone numbers.
This isn’t the first time Park Myung Soo has brought up his regrets about the way he treated BTS as rookies. In a 2017 episode of Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show, he stated, “I didn’t know these kids would get this famous. I should have treated them better when I met them in the past.”
