Producer Tommy Brown Reveals BLACKPINK Spent All Day Recording In The Studio—Even While He Was Sleeping
On a recent Instagram live broadcast, Grammy-nominated producer Tommy Brown (also known as TBHits) revealed how “phenomenal” BLACKPINK were in the studio when he worked with them.
Back in August 2019, the BLACKPINK members were seen dining with Tommy Brown and YG Entertainment producer Teddy.
Brown later uploaded another fun photo of himself with BLACKPINK, which captured a lot of attention after Ariana Grande commented asking him to edit her into the picture.
Tommy Brown is best known as the producers who worked with Ariana Grande on many of her biggest hits, including “7 Rings” and “Thank U, Next”.
BLINKs quickly began to speculate that Brown may be one of the major producers on BLACKPINK’s next album. The rumors gained some truth when a friend of Brown’s confirmed on Instagram that he had been working with the group.
In January this year, Tommy Brown shared a photo of himself in the midst of the producing process with Jennie, confirming that he definitely worked with the group.
Now, he’s spoken out about what they’re like in the studio. In an Instagram live broadcast on April 15, Brown brought up his time with BLACKPINK, describing the group as “phenomenal”.
“I love BLACKPINK. I did get a chance to work with BLACKPINK. They’re phenomenal man, them girls are on another level.

He went on to share a quick story that proves just how amazing they are. Brown revealed that he fell asleep in the middle of the recording process for a full 8 hours. But when he woke up, the BLACKPINK members were still powering through recording without a break.
I fell asleep in the studio for 8 hours because I was so jetlagged. And when I woke up, they were still recording. I had a full 8 hours’ rest.

Brown didn’t confirm whether he was talking about what he recorded with BLACKPINK in August or if he’s worked with them since then. Since he’s known for working with Ariana Grande, many BLINKs are hoping the song he recorded could be a collab.
It seems that Tommy Brown also produced “Rain on Me”, the Ariana Grande collaboration from Lady Gaga’s upcoming album. Rumors of BLACKPINK also appearing on the album have been making the rounds for weeks.
