17-Year-Old Olympic Star In Tears After Being Mobbed By Fans, Followed Into Bathroom
Though the 2024 Paris Olympics may have ended, many athletes who attended have reached celebrity status. Through stories of their bad*ssery, athletes from around the world have gained attention from netizens who might not have known about them otherwise.
Medal-Winning Olympian Confesses To Being Sick, On Her Period During Final Race
One such athlete is the 17-year-old Quan Hongchan. At the Paris Olympics, Quan took home double gold for China, defending her title in the 10m platform dive and winning with her partner, Chen Yuxi.
Many online were not only impressed by her talents but also endeared by her personality and attitude.
Unfortunately, this resulted in a scary experience for the athlete recently.
While apparently in Macao, visiting the city with other Olympians, Quan was shopping when she was mobbed by dozens of overzealous fans. Video captured by netizens first show Quan and two others with her being chased before running into a bathroom.
Fans follower her inside, leaving when security eventually arrives. As the crowd refuses to disperse, a woman seemingly with the security team announces that Quan was scared and crying inside of the bathroom, and would not take photos with anyone if they continued to act this way.
Ultimately, more security arrives to help Quan get to her destination.
While it is understandable to be excited seeing a celebrity, hopefully Quan does not experience any more scary situations like this.
