The Provocative Idol Variety Show That Would Have Been “Canceled” By 4th and 5th Generation Fans
All The K-Pop: Entertainment Academy was a variety show that aired between 2012 and 2013. The main premise is centered around a cast of both boy and girl groups, putting them into various teams to do different tasks. The show gained immense popularity amongst fans of 2nd and 3rd-generation groups, who enjoyed seeing their idols interact with each other. The show leaned on the side of being provocative at times, pairing the idols into “couples.”
Common games on the show include “blow and suck” and having the male guests lift their partners while doing squats.
The games called for close proximity such as hands on thighs…
…or intimate positions, egged on by the MC.
Summer specials involved the stars at waterparks. Games included hugging to burst a water balloon…
…and couple jump rope.
Such shows often have a single goal in mind — to pair up the idols.
The idols would even do little sexy dances or aegyo to appeal to their desired partner.
Many netizens who have returned to watch the shows joked that this would not be allowed in the current generation.
As fans of the 4th and 5th generations of idols are much stricter regarding interactions between groups of opposite genders, it is unlikely that such variety shows will ever return to the screen. You can watch an episode below.
