Rapper Beenzino Confesses He Rapped for a Box of “Choco Pie” When He Was in the Military
In order to commemorate rapper Beenzino‘s return from the military after 2 years, W Korea revealed an interview they had with the star where he shared stories about BIGBANG‘s Taeyang and Daesung who also served with him and things that happened between him and his girlfriend, Stefanie Michova.
In particular, online communities have been focusing on the “put your hands up” photo that was taken of Beenzino during his service.
The photo is from back in 2017 when Beenzino was receiving training during the early days of his service, and the rapper can be seen holding the mic and performing in front of monks and fellow soldiers.
When asked about this photo that went viral at the time, Beenzino shared, “I heard we could win a box of Choco Pie, so I immediately rapped ‘Day & Night’.”
It’s been said that Beenzino lit up the “stage” and absolutely killed his song “Day & Night” which received lots of cheers and applause from the audience.
When he was asked if he liked Choco Pie even before entering the military, Beenzino confessed, “I never thought I’d put on a performance for a box of Choco Pie, that’s for sure.”
He then looked back on his memories of the military and shared, “When you’re in training school, you get really hungry.”
