Red Velvet’s Seulgi Spills On Whether She Prefers Being Liked By Female Or Male K-Pop Idols
Red Velvet‘s Seulgi recently guested on the comedy show Yongjin’s Health Center, where she ended up getting real about whether she prefers being popular among male or female K-Pop idols.
The subject came up when comedian Lee Yong Jin asked her about her impressive popularity among female K-Pop idols. Seulgi has many fans among them, one of which is her new bestie (G)I-DLE‘s Yuqi.
After Seulgi explained how she came to be friends with Yuqi, cohost Gaby said to her, “You really have a vibe that makes girls like you.”
Lee Yong Jin joked that she also has a vibe that makes her hard to approach for men.
Seulgi had to agree, explaining that when she was a trainee she often rejected men who approached her.
Lee Yong Jin then commented on how Seulgi has often ranked high as one of the female idols most liked by other female idols. He asked Seulgi if she preferred that to being liked by male idols, and she had a definitive answer (one which Gaby definitely vibed with).
Lee Yong Jin agreed that he enjoyed praise from fellow male celebrities more…
…leading Gaby to state, “When you are respected by your own gender, it feels like you are really respected.”
Luckily, Seulgi will always have a diverse fanbase, but it’s definitely easy to see why she’s particularly popular among girls!
