Sandara Park Weighs In On Whether Men And Women Can Just Be Friends
Sandara Park (also known as Dara) was recently cast in a new YouTube web series, Unnies Without Appetite (unnie is the word Korean girls use to refer to older women.) Veteran actress Park So Hyun joins her in a quest to find guests who can help them grow their tiny stomachs.
On the 10th episode of the show, they were joined by their food professor for the day, Oking, known for his wild mukbang (eating shows popularized by South Koreans) livestreams. He decided that the best way to make the girls hungry was by making them work and cooking the food themselves!
While they waited for their fire to start, the group talked about whether they would prefer their partner to eat a lot or a little. Oking said he would hate it if his girlfriend didn’t eat a lot since sharing a meal is a unique form of bonding for him. To his surprise, Dara agreed she liked people who ate well and said if a guy offered to eat her leftovers, her heart would flutter!
Oking then said that her response was wrong because she should never be eating out with a male friend! So Hyun replied, “You are so conservative,” and Dara said, “It’s just food!”
Oking decided to play a game to settle the debate and ask Dara and So Hyun some questions to check how conservative they were.
The first question was obvious, “Can boys and girls be friends?”
Despite her previous answer, Dara said that they can’t just be friends because “There’s always something there, at least once.”
Oking emphatically said she was right! A lot of the production crew seemed to agree as well.
Although the trio was joking around, there may have been some actual hints about how Dara truly feels about men and women just being friends in her response.
