They also looked back on their earliest music videos and shared an interesting tidbit about a veteran director from SM Entertainment they call Director Cheon. They remembered how unique the filming of their “Amigo” music video was because he used a small camera that he could hold with one hand.

  • Key: I was very confused because we were making a music video, which was an official thing, but he was filming with a camera he could hold with one hand.
  • Minho: True!

He was also in charge of their memorable SMTOWN MVs where they sang in front of a green screen.

You know how Director Cheon was like at the time! There are SM music videos with strong colors! “Purple Line” for example. SMTOWN music videos! We were in vacation outfits, but we were standing in front of a green screen.

But the reason why he was hired multiple times is because of a valuable trait he possesses; he is easy to negotiate with. He is flexible and can be called on at the last minute to film a music video. It’s why he has filmed over 100 music videos already!

  • Key: He was very easy to negotiate with. The date, time… It doesn’t matter.
  • Jaejae: He had no boundaries for conditions.
  • Key: Flexible. It could take a day or 10 days. He could film a music video tomorrow.
  • Minho: I think he made about 100 music videos.
  • Key: He should’ve gone to Cannes!
